Some vegans say that it is not natural to eat meat. What does science say? Is eating meat unnatural for humans?

Of course, it is not natural to eat meat just as it is not natural to cremate the dead, or perform surgery, or play soccer, nor is it natural to watch the news from a Smartphone.

People confuse what is natural with "what is good and what is logical"… but in reality it is not like that…. For example, among female mammals, what is natural (dogs and cats, for example) is to eat their children who were born sick... Is nature bad because of the cannibalism of these mothers?  No, it is natural.

And yet, as I said in another answer, it was precisely the consumption of meat that allowed us to go from being ordinary hominids to doing something else, Homo Sapiens.

Now the question remains... if that evolutionary step already took place thousands of years ago, does it mean that we should continue eating meat? My opinion is no. Why?

Gorillas and chimpanzees (with whom we share more than 99% of our DNA) have a diet of 90% natural fiber (fruits, vegetables, roots) and 10% insects, and look how strong they are.

The "postmodern" human being has a diet of 50% meat, 30% fiber, 10% saturated fats and 10% industrial sugars…. And he is dying before the age of 70 when he should live much longer.

The first Homo Sapiens did not eat pizza, they did not eat French fries, nor did they eat hamburgers in the way they are produced today: in giant slaughterhouses where the meat is contaminated with feces, stored in Styrofoam trays and headed for supermarkets.

Early Homo sapiens also did not inject their cows with hormones to make them produce more milk or to make them bigger. Nothing that human beings have done to other species supposedly to produce more is "Natural"... and now we have a very high rate of amputees due to preventable diseases such as diabetes (for example).

My father (for example) a carnivore at all costs who has always preached his way of life as "the best" has already had two heart attacks and an operation on the aorta (a disease that could be prevented and avoided simply by eating more vegetables).

CORRECTION: My father passed away in February 2022, before reaching the age of 70. The reason?  Heart attack.

The discipline of vegetarianism is not to say which diet is "the most natural" but the one that avoids preventable and treatable diseases and is also the best for the environment.

On the contrary: if that evolutionary step has already been taken (if we have already stopped climbing trees and if we have already learned a number of cooking procedures) then we no longer depend equally on meat, nor on the disastrous mode of production that we carry, and neither do we we need so much cruelty in slaughterhouses… Are n't we supposed to be smarter than animals?

Worse still: perhaps they doubt that so much proliferation of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and diabetes, and even cases of babies born with diabetes (which did not exist)... Do not you think that it is mother nature telling us that our way of feeding is wrong?

Remember children: that something is "natural" does not mean that it is also recommended or logical or ethical, or that it is the best.

In nature, natural phenomena occur: spontaneous abortion, homosexuality, cannibalism, rape of their females or other species (for example, dolphins that rape seals and other animals), use of recreational drugs, they are natural things, they exist in nature.

That's right: abortion and homosexuality are natural things, they exist in nature.
